I hope you are all having a wonderful Summer! As the Summer winds down, the NWCS staff and board are busy getting things ready for school. Please see below for a few notices:
REGISTRATION: If you have not registered yet, please do so ASAP so that we can plan accordingly. This is really important as it helps us to finalize class assignments.
OPEN HOUSE: Please help spread the word about our school! I’ve attached an open house flyer and brochure. Please feel free to forward this on to anyone who might be interested, post onto any of your social media platforms and just generally get the word out!
MOON CAKES: The Mid-Autumn Moon Festival is on 9/10, our first day of school! Each year we order moon cakes for our teachers to thank them for all their hard work. This year we are pleased to offer our families the ability to pre-order boxes of moon cakes as well! Please use this link to access the pre-order form. Take a look at the “Item List” tab for the flavors included in each box sets. Moon cakes can be paid for and picked up on the first day of school. If you have any questions or difficulties with ordering, please let us know.
SUMMER HOMEWORK: A reminder to all students to get their Summer HW done! Those who hand in their HW will get 10 raffle tickets for the New Year Raffle.

Happy Spring! Please join us this Saturday for the Raffle Drawing! We will hold the drawing in the cafeteria starting around 9:45 and ending around 10:15. All students will have a longer break than usual, so that they are able to participate in drawing the raffle tickets. Breakfast club will also have some super yummy treats! If you are not able to attend in person, no worries. We will publish the winning ticket list afterwards and arrange for prize deliver/pick up as needed.
If you would like to purchase last minute tickets, Carolyn Koo will be in the cafeteria, and we will sell tickets until about 9:30. You can also email Carolyn (tingting98@gmail.com) separately before saturday to purchase tickets. The flyer is attached for your reference, though a few more prizes have been added since, including water bottles and some more gift cards!

Dear NWCS Families,

As we mentioned on Saturday, It’s time again for the Chinese New Year raffle! As usual, we have some terrific prizes, including the following:

  • FOUR round-trip tickets on JetBlue! (the tickets are available starting June 2022)
  • Apple AirPods Pro!
  • Gift cards to Aberdeen Seafood & Dim Sum (White Plains) and Dai Sushi (Pleasantville)! 
  • Lots of other great prizes!

See the attached flyer for a full list. (There’s been some new ones added since Saturday!)

Here are the details:

WHEN:

Drawing will take place on Saturday, January 8 after the Chinese New Year performance. You do not need to be present in order to win.

TICKET PRICES: 

$5 for 1 ticket, $10 for 3 tickets, $20 for 10 tickets and $40 for 25 tickets (the best deal!).

HOW TO BUY: 

1) Carolyn Koo will sell tickets in the cafeteria at school on 12/18 and 1/8.

2) If you’re not at school, you can also purchase tickets by emailing Carolyn at tingting98@gmail.com with the number of tickets and she will reply with payment instructions via Venmo, Zelle, or sending a check.

A reminder that the students who did their summer homework will automatically get 10 tickets. Their raffle ticket numbers will be emailed to their parents before the drawing.

Fall 2021 Semester Registration
First day of school is on Saturday 9/11. Please register your child here if you have not yet done so, Please contract our registrar, Ms. Allyson Kwan, at registrar@nwcsny.org or our principal Rick Chan at principal@nwcsny.org if you have any questions.
We are also offering two special electives this semester: “Coding and Electronics with Arduino” and “SAT Prep”. If interested, please sign up!
Summer Homework Assignment
Kindly remind the kids to finish their summer work assignments and review what was learnt last year. For kids that have completed their summer homework assignments, they will be awarded 10 raffle tickets (pending teacher’s verification)!
Open House
We are also having an open house on 9/11 from 9:30-11:30am. Please help us spread the word!! Here is the link to the open house ad if you want to forward to anyone.
